How Much Should You Tip?

Tip on the Pre-Tax or Post-Tax Total?
Traditionally, tips are calculated on the pre-tax subtotal, since the tax isn't part of the service. In practice many people tip on the total for simplicity. Either is fine — this tool applies your chosen percentage to whatever bill amount you enter, so type the subtotal if you want to tip pre-tax.
Splitting Fairly
This tool splits the total evenly across the group, which is the simplest approach when everyone shared roughly equally. If people ordered very differently, you might split the tip evenly but assign each person their own items — in that case, calculate each person's tip on their own share.
