How to Use

Upload a PDF and pick a rotation. 90 degrees right fixes a page lying on its left side, 90 degrees left fixes the opposite, and 180 degrees flips an upside-down page. Click Rotate and download the corrected document. The rotation is added to the current angle of each page, so pages already turned in the file end up correct rather than double-rotated.

Why This Tool Is Useful

Sideways PDFs are a classic scanner annoyance — you can turn the view in your reader, but that only changes how it looks on your screen. Anyone you send it to still gets a sideways document, and it prints sideways too. Rotating and saving bakes the correction into the file itself, so it is right for everyone, everywhere.

Viewing vs Saving a Rotation

Most PDF readers let you rotate the view with a toolbar button, but that is a temporary display setting. Close the file and it is sideways again, and the recipient sees the original orientation. Saving a rotation writes the angle into the document, so it travels with the file.

Choosing the Right Angle

Work out which way the top of the page currently points. If the text reads bottom-to-top (the top of the page is on the left), rotate 90 degrees right. If it reads top-to-bottom (the top is on the right), rotate 90 degrees left. If the page is simply upside down, use 180 degrees.

Rotation Is Cumulative

PDF pages store their own rotation value, and scanned files often already contain one. This tool adds your chosen angle to whatever each page already has, rather than overwriting it, which is why a mixed document rotates predictably. If a result is not what you expected, rotate the downloaded file again to nudge it round.
